At the age of 96, 70 of them in possession of the British crown, Queen Elizabeth II died this Thursday (8). The monarch was the longest-lived in British history and the third oldest in world history. Elizabeth II’s eldest son, Prince Charles, 72, is expected to take the job.
This Thursday morning, Buckingham Palace reported that doctors were concerned about the health of the monarch, who is being monitored at Balmoral Castle, in Scotland. As soon as the news broke, members of the royal family moved to Balmoral.
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon.
