Ao celebrates the film’s 20th anniversary and also marks the launch of the motorola edge 30 ultra
One of the most iconic characters in national cinema reappeared this Monday (12) in a short film released by Vivo with Motorola. Buscap, from Cidade de Deus, returns to celebrate the film’s 20th anniversary and also to showcase the new motorola edge 30 ultra.
In the 14-minute narrative, directed by Fred Luz, from the production company O2 Filmes, the friendship between Buscap and Barbantinho is the starting point for the return to Cidade de Deus. Now a professional photojournalist, he goes to cover an event within the community, but alters his plans by making a discovery that will lead to a deeper investigation.
Our intention, our will, for this ‘glue’ to exist, this relationship between Cidade de Deus and Buscap, but also building a proprietary identity for the short film, it cannot just be a remake of Cidade de Deus now, but what it changes from there to c, how we look at this work 20 years later and how we interpret the choices. Very intense diving, a lot of learning and a lot of listening, explains Fred Luz.
To make the short, the team mobilized 120 people and 169 extras. The job involved five days of casting preparation, three days of hair and makeup audition and four filming days. The content also has footage of some scenes made with the motorola edge 30 ultra smartphone itself.
Smartphones are now an essential part of consumers’ lives. With technology, the creation of content becomes more and more viable. That’s why we put the smartphone into action. Without having a professional camera, the Buscap character uses his cell phone in journalistic investigation, with all the resources in the palm of his hand to generate quality content, said Andrea Brandi, head of Branding at Motorola.
The short can be seen on vivo.com.br/buscape, on Vivo’s YouTube channel and also on Vivo Play. In addition, the strategy includes outdoor media, trailers in movie theaters and online media with content pills.
