Assa Atacadista, Bradesco, Brasilcap and Nivea are some of the partners
The AACD is launching the campaign that marks the 25th anniversary of its fundraising campaign, the Telethon, which will be broadcast on SBT on November 4th and 5th.
The campaign, produced by the organization, brings the story of patients who were assisted by the AACD, thanks to donations from campaigns over the years and has the message “Your donation spreads good”.
When we started this trajectory, back in 1998, the cause of the person with physical disability was not a priority. Of course, we still need to evolve a lot, but the fact is that this scenario has changed a lot and I’m sure that this visibility and the care provided by the AACD to its patients contributed. Today topics such as inclusion and accessibility are part of our daily lives, said Valdesir Galvan, CEO of AACD.
This year’s edition will feature the return of the song Depende de Ns, by Ivan Lins, which was the theme song for the first years of the campaign.
This was the song that was most often the theme of the TV show. There is an affective memory of people. The lyrics and melody provoke a reflection on the importance of helping those in need, explained the director of the television program Teleton, Norma Mantovanini.
Telethon will have 17 hours of programming
The broadcast of the program will have more than 17 hours of programming and content for the internet that will have the presence of artists and digital influencers.
In addition to influencers and artists, this year’s Telethon stage will feature the campaign’s godfathers and godmothers: presenters Eliana and Celso Portiolli, from SBT, singer Daniel and actress Masa.
Another participant in the 2022 edition of Telethon is patient Nathlia Lopes. Currently 29 years old, Natlia was born with a physical disability and joined the AACD when she was 2 months old. At the age of 4, she attended the first Telethon and, thanks to her rehabilitation process, managed to have a full and successful professional life in the job market.
Fundraising goal and how to donate
Just like last year, the fundraising goal for the 2022 Telethon is R$30 million. According to Edson Brito, AACD’s Superintendent of Marketing and Institutional Relations, the organization expects at least R$ 12 million to come from donations from individuals.
“[As doaes de pessoas fsicas] It will be essential to achieve our fundraising objective and not negatively impact our services for 2023. Observing the program’s audience in recent years, we have come to the conclusion that the potential is much greater. That’s why we continue to believe and we are confident that, in this edition, we will have a greater number of donations from the population, explained Brito.
The traditional 0500, for those who want to call and donate, will be available from September 26: 0500 12345 05, to donate R$ 5, 0500 12345 20, to donate R$ 20, and 0500 12345 40, to donate R$ 40 .
In addition to donations from individuals, the campaign relies on partners engaged in the cause of people with physical disabilities, who contribute annually to the Institution. Among those confirmed for this edition are: Assa Atacadista, Bradesco, Brasilcap, Caedu, Droga Raia and Drogasil, Ekkogroup, Flora (with Neutrox and Minuano), Grupo Avenida, Hipercard, Nivea, Nova Fralda Turma da Mnica Baby and Bigfral, Riachuelo, Sodi , Uninassau and 3 Coraes.
We are very proud of our partners, committed to ESG, who are with us in this endeavor. There are more than 250 throughout history. Bradesco, for example, was present in all editions of the Telethon, and many others were present with us over these 25 years, such as Votorantim, Assa Atacadista, Riachuelo, Hipercard and Brasilcap, highlighted Brito.
fundraising events
To publicize the campaign, the AACD is promoting several events that aim to call the public to help.
This Monday (12), an exclusive event was held for Telethon partners, with Ballet Giselle, from the Bolshoi Theater School in Brazil, at Teatro Alfa, in So Paulo.
On October 5th, the organization will promote the “Solidarity Night”, at Tokio Marine Hall, in So Paulo. The event will feature live performances by Zez Di Camargo & Luciano and special appearances by Daniel, Gian & Giovani and Edson & Hudson and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to AACD. Tickets for the show are already on sale through the Sympla website.
On October 18, during the Telethon press conference, which will be held at SBT, there will be the launch of Laos de Gratido, a voluntary institutional memory project conceived by CDI Comunicao that will bring, in book format, the main moments of these 25 years of campaign, with testimonies of great personalities who have already participated in the Telethon.
Difficulties in the pandemic
In recent years, the AACD Telethon Campaign has suffered from the drop in donations from individuals in recent years, especially after the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic. Comparing last year with 2018, for example, the drop of approximately 60%, which is equivalent to more than 80 thousand visits in the AACD.
With the SUS table frozen for 15 years and this decrease in donations, we have faced difficulties in maintaining the approximately 800,000 consultations that we perform annually. This edition of Telethon can be a milestone in this recovery, we count on the solidarity and engagement of the Brazilian people, reinforced Galvan.
Despite the difficulties, the Telethon has allowed the establishment of partnerships through the technical cooperation model. Currently, the organization has five in total: the ANPR (North Paranaense Rehabilitation Association), from Maring (PR); Nice Aguiar Rehabilitation Center of Santa Casa de Jequi, in Jequi (BA); Instituto Baiano de Reabilitao, in Salvador (BA); Association for the Rehabilitation of Disabled Children, in São José do Rio Preto (SP) and Association of the Physically Disabled of Poos de Caldas, in Poos de Caldas (MG).
We are proud that, even in a difficult economic scenario, we will continue to work so that more people throughout Brazil have access to service with our quality standard. We have other conversations underway with institutions from different parts of the country, and we need a successful Telethon to make new partnerships effective next year, said Dr. Alice Rosa Ramos, Superintendent of Assistance Practices at AACD.
