The Baixada team is carrying out an action, developed with End To End, which promotes the search for the ancestry of people linked to the club
Santos FC launched its third kit for the 2022/2023 season, which honors the African continent and makes reference to the game played by the team in 1969, in Nigeria.
At the time, the continent was in a period of conflict and the war was stopped so that the match could take place.
To mark the launch, the Baixada team is carrying out an action, developed with End To End, which promotes the search for the ancestry of people linked to the club, such as players, former players, artists and black fans. For this, Santos FC is counting on the partnership of meuDNA company.
In total, when going to present ten personalities from Santos with a DNA collection kit along with the club’s new official shirt. In addition, Santos FC will also offer, with a 50% discount on the meuDNA website (meudna.com), one thousand genetic tests to its fans during the month of September.
It is simply fantastic that we can encourage the search for ancestry to so many Brazilians of African origin, the cradle of humanity. The ‘Santos do Mundo’ project is a source of great pride for Santos fans and the African stage is even more special. Let’s remember the club’s achievements on the African continent and value and know even more about our history, explained the club’s marketing executive, Rafael Soares.
The project also continues with actions for humanitarian aid to the African continent. Since June, the club has raffled off the shirt of the player who scores the first goal in matches with wins and draws through the Solidarity Mantle and part of the proceeds go to the organization Doctors Without Borders, which provides medical care in the most needy countries.
