With the popularization of streaming, many of us lost the expectation of waiting for series/season premieres on cable TV. However, for those who don’t have Globoplay (as I do), there are some important premieres in the next few days on Universal TV. One of them is the debut of The Lost Symbol, the version of Dan Brown’s book. Another – and I really hope – is the 2nd season of Evil – if you are looking for a scary series, this is it! And still, Almost Paradisewith Christian Kane, from Angel e The Librarians, and season 2 of Family Law. See below for more details on each of them.
The Lost Symbol – 21st, at 10:20 pm
The miniseries follows the early adventures of famed Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon (Ashley Zukerman, Nate Sofrelli in Succession). He must solve a series of deadly puzzles to save his kidnapped mentor. And, of course, thwarting a terrifying global conspiracy. The production is an adaptation of Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol.
Evil Season 2 – 21st at 11:10 pm
A fiction series about the battle between science and religion. Evil shows the story of Dr. Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), a skeptical clinical psychologist. She teams up with a priest-in-training (Mike Colter) as they investigate alleged miracles, demonic possession and other extraordinary occurrences. All to see if there is a scientific explanation or if something truly supernatural is at work.
Almost Paradise – 23rd at 10:20 pm
When life-threatening hypertension forces DEA agent Alex Walker (Christian Kane) into early retirement. He then decides to move to a quiet, deserted beach in the Philippines, which he visited many years ago. But when Alex gets there, he discovers that, in that time span, dozens of luxury resorts have been built. And that filled the once isolated island with jet skis, honeymoons, screaming children. And also the richest and most famous criminals in the world. Against the doctor’s orders, Alex finds himself involved in cases where he uses his skills as a longtime agent to fend off bad guys.
Family Law Season 2 – 27th at 11:10 pm
Lawyer and recovering alcoholic Abigail ‘Abby’ Bianchi (Jewel Staite) is struggling to get her career and family back on track after hitting rock bottom. Due to the condition of her parole, Abby is forced to work at her estranged father’s firm. With that, she will have to practice family law for the first time, alongside half-siblings Daniel (Zach Smadu) Lucy (Genelle Williams), who she has never met. As Abby likes to play, it’s a dysfunctional family helping other dysfunctional families.
