The year 2021 entered the history of the Rooster for many reasons. The team was considered the best in terms of performance among the Serie A teams, with more wins, fewer defeats and more games without conceding a goal. The consequence of the good performance on the field was the conquest of two great titles, the Brasileirão and the Copa do Brasil, a source of pride for the club’s fans, who can, until October 6th, compete in three items that symbolize the success of the last season.
In partnership with Play For a Cause, the club offers, for auction, replicas of the 2021 Copa do Brasil and Brasileirão trophies, in addition to an official Brasileirão medal, the same that was given to the athletes and coaching staff. Items are available for bidding on the Play For a Cause website – which uses sport and entertainment as a tool for social transformation.
The starting bid for each of the trophies, which have the same scale as the originals, is R$5,000. The initial bid for the medal is BRL 2,000. The funds raised will be transferred to Instituto Galo – a non-profit organization that hosts social actions by the Minas Gerais team.

“It is an excellent opportunity for Massa Atleticana to buy such valuable items for the history of the Club and, at the same time, contribute to the legacy of social transformation that Instituto Galo has carried out.”
Off-field winning partnership
In partnership with Play For a Cause since 2021, the club has helped to promote social impact and break records for resources transferred to social projects. This is because the auctions promoted on the Play For a Cause platform are intended to help people in a state of vulnerability throughout Brazil. In total, the partners have already carried out 6 campaigns, with 43 items being auctioned, raising R$245,000.
One of the great results of this partnership took place in July this year, when, in a single auction, Atlético Mineiro and Play For a Cause raised more than R$126,000. The campaign featured 14 autographed shirts used in the game commemorating the partial completion of the MRV Arena works. The funds were transferred to Instituto Galo, which has already impacted the lives of more than 98,000 people in its first year of activity.
