Influencer has more than 9.5 million followers, more than 320 million likes and has drawn the attention of brands
The astronomical numbers on the internet and the sudden fame coming from the power that social networks currently have can make people put on the shoe of pride and fall from the top of the hill. But this is not the case with Ramon Vitor.
The current phenomenon of TikTok, 22 years old, has more than 9.5 million followers and more than 320 million likes, but the sum of the numbers with the huge engagement and the search of brands for their image, did not make it the influencer took off the slippers of humility.
Ramon lives in Ilhus, in a simple house, and it was his routine that made him win the hearts of his millions of followers and also of the brands that want to associate themselves with the boy’s image.
In its profile, tiktoker has already advertised for Veja, Neosadina, Assa Atacadista, among others.
Despite his recent success, Ramon has the attitude and conscience of someone who has worked with the internet for years, in addition to not giving up his responsibility to the public when it comes to closing some advertising.
“People take my word for it, so I have responsibility. That’s why I don’t do anything I don’t believe in. It’s not all about money, you know? I have to be happy, have the freedom to do things my way because people like it. of it,” said Ramon.
To PROPMARK, he tells how he is seeing this new moment in his life, the things he wants to accomplish and how he deals with the responsibilities of his new job.
You went viral this year with your videos on TikTok. At what point did you understand that this had happened?
I think it was the moment people started to recognize me on the street. Today, there isn’t a day that I go out and someone doesn’t say something. I think it was at that moment.
You have an old history with the internet. How did your relationship with videos come about?
When I was little, my parents had a camera that they recorded a lot of stuff and I rewatched it several times. From then on, I said that I needed to record my life so I could see it all again. After several years, I discovered YouTube, back in late 2012, and I liked it so much that I said I wanted to do it for the rest of my life. After a year, consuming the videos, I saw that I could make money with it and that it could be my profession. From then on, when I was still small, I started recording, joined Vine and learned how to do it. I already recorded my life before, I have everything recorded. There’s a video of me from 2009. I started posting, making videos that I thought were cool, but it only worked now.
How was your viral story? Do you have a video that represented this moment?
At the. I think the thing happened when I found myself as a person, I was happy as a person and being okay with myself. It comes across so much in the videos that people started to feel it. Maybe it worked out because I was happy doing what I like, in my own way, showing my routine.
How are you seeing this change?
It’s a very good change, but for the good because I’m working a lot. I remember that, before I found myself again, I would sit and cry because I didn’t want to give up on my dream, but I was seeing it falling behind. I was forced to stop recording, I couldn’t, but the bills were coming in and I didn’t know what to do.
What was the first brand that came to you to campaign?
Did you know that I don’t? It’s not so recent that I ‘t’ closing work. I really don’t remember, there are some things I don’t remember, like, for example, I don’t remember what I ate yesterday, birthdays… I only know mine (laughs). When she started to enter the marks, they came a few at once if how I’m not the one who takes care of it, I don’t know.
How was it for you to have this search for brands?
Thank God not finally! Closing jobs, earning money, getting things done (laughs). I’m really happy, really. We need to earn money to do things, but for me the point is not the money itself, you know? do the things. Being able to be carefree about things, not worrying about whether I’ll be able to buy things at the market. I remember that in the beginning, everything was a lot of contact and I didn’t have money to do the shopping at home. I used to make recipe videos and I used my mom’s card to do the shopping. That’s bad isn’t it? I couldn’t make the videos. Now it’s easier for me to make the videos, pay the bills on time… I spent 6 months paying the electricity bill and they could have cut it at any time. Every time I went to sleep, I was worried and afraid of waking up without light. But today I’m very happy, there’s a lot of work and I’m seeing this side, you know? From the people who work with it.
How is your way of advertising? Do brands give you freedom?
I even ask them to let me do it. I think brands are doing research on influencers, to understand the work. Now, of those who are arriving, 80% give me freedom, and that’s great, because I need to feel comfortable doing things, even to give a better result, but there are cases and cases. There was one that came looking for me asking me to do a little dance, but that’s not my content. They wanted to pay me even more to do it, but I don’t. I asked Manuella to ask them if they had seen my videos and they said no. There came a point where I refused. I prefer not to, regardless of the value. If it makes me uncomfortable, I refuse. There were some proposals that came with very high values, but they are things that I don’t think are right and I say to cancel. Of the things that are coming, I choose very carefully what I’m going to do because people follow along, you know? How am I going to go there and disclose something I don’t agree with? I don’t. I only disclose the things I like, that make sense to me. People trust my word, so I have responsibility. That’s why I don’t do anything I don’t believe in. Not all money, you know? I have to be happy, have the freedom to do things my way because people like it.
Do you feel any weight for having this responsibility now?
At the. I’ve already asked myself this, but knowing my integrity, I’m not ashamed and I don’t hide anything. I think if someone is afraid of something, they know they are doing something wrong. For me, very peaceful. I talk about anything because I know I’m a right person, a good person.
What do brands usually ask you to do in advertising?
Usually they ask me to insert them in my daily life, but there have been some cases with other proposals. There are brands that want other things and then I stop to think of some cool idea, the best way to present it but that still has my face.
What brand have you not worked with yet, but would love to?
I do not know. I really want to follow these things that make sense for my life, especially for the moments I’m living right now. For example, I really want to travel, so if anything related to that came along, it would be really cool. I base myself on my dreams. And construction stuff too, because I’m renovating my house and I need to invest here. My planning is to first tidy up here and then do the other things.
Do you see yourself as a brand?
I can, for sure. As I record for a long time, I have friends who have been working with it for a long time, so even though I didn’t do it, I saw people close to me doing it. This has made this publicity work not something that I am totally unaware of. I’ve already helped friends of mine in their advertising, recording for them, so this process of creation, thinking and everything else, I already did. I can see myself as a brand because everything fits together. I show my life and the things that happen. I’m renovating here and that’s something I need to do, so I think if I had a building material thing, decorations, etc, it would fit, you know? For example, I record myself cleaning the house, so I use cleaning products and it came to Veja. something that went super well because I really do, you know?
What is the best definition of the Ramon Vitor brand?
Jeez… V makes sense. My best definition is perseverance, because I’ve been through it all and I could have given up. I had all the reasons in the world and I’m still here. But from my brand, I think it’s just sincerity, charisma and authenticity.
