Pink October is a movement known worldwide for breast cancer awareness actions aimed at women and society. The main objective is to emphasize the importance of prevention and early diagnosis of the disease.
Created for this cause, by blogger and activist Flávia Flores, the Quimiotherapy and Beauty Institute (IQeB) promotes every year the Pink cycling and walkingwhich mobilizes hundreds of people to practice physical activity, one of the most important healthy habits in disease prevention.
The sixth edition of the event was included in the official calendar of São Paulo and is scheduled for October 9, along Avenida Paulista. The event is sponsored by Salomão Zoppi Medicina Diagnóstica, a brand owned by Dasa, the largest integrated health network in Brazil, and supported by the São Paulo Department of Tourism.
Saladapix, supporter of the event, created the logo for this year’s event, starting the “Boobs Parade” project, which will be held in October 2023, also as part of the October Rosa program.
Participation in Pedalada e Caminhada Rosa has subscriptions from R$69, with the right to a special kit with t-shirt, bandana and bag, which can be picked up on October 8th from 12 pm to 6 pm, at Salomão Zoppi’s unit, in Paraíso (Rua Correia Dias, 136 – São Paulo). All funds raised will go to IQeB projects, such as the Scarves Bank, which has donated more than 40,000 scarves to women with cancer throughout Brazil.
“According to INCA, it is estimated that in Brazil more than 65,000 new cases of breast cancer were diagnosed in 2022 alone, being the second most common type of disease among women”, declares Deborah Duarte, President of IQeB. “We know that early diagnosis is essential and greatly increases the chances of cure, which is why awareness-raising initiatives like this are important. Maintaining healthy habits such as good nutrition, practicing physical activities, avoiding the consumption of alcoholic beverages and smoking, in addition to performing preventive exams annually, are basic prevention recommendations”, he adds.
Pedalada e Caminhada Rosa receives Cats – an affectionate nickname for women and patients undergoing treatment, as well as supporters of the cause, friends, family, children and pets. It is estimated that around 600 people will be gathered. “The more we increase this engagement and the number of people, the more we will make a difference in the lives of so many women”, says Flavia Flores, an example of overcoming breast cancer.

Following the motto “Self-esteem and beauty”, one of the pillars of the IQeB, the main tent will have an exclusive space for Monange, in addition to the production of basic makeup for the participants. “Our premise has always been to keep the self-esteem of women fighting cancer high as essential in their battle and in their cure”, comments Flavia. Tenda Monange has special actions by the brand, which is one of the sponsors of the event, including offering massages to participants.
