The event features workshops on techniques for covering municipal budgets; rights in accessing public data; investigation of territorial and land data and even information about advertisements on social networks. The program also offers two bootcamps (intensive training) introduction to Python and R languages.

“Coda.Br has already established itself as the most important meeting of the Brazilian community that uses data to impact public issues of the greatest relevance”, says Fernanda Campagnucci, executive director of OKBR. The democratization of data and its application to issues such as environmental monitoring, education, public security and urban policies are on the CODA agenda.
The program also includes the presence of Marco Túlio Pires, head of Google News Lab in Brazil, who will give workshops on advanced use of the Google Trends tool and basic data visualization with Data Studio and Flourish.
“Google has several tools that should be allied to journalistic work. When we talk about data, we are able to bring precision, agility and inputs to professionals in the area. Our objective in this event is to train and show the potential of these solutions”, says Marco Túlio Pires. Check out the full agenda.
