Festival is scheduled to take place between the 8th and 10th of May in London; since 2020, due to the pandemic, the event was held in the remote model
Meeting of judges to judge the works, lectures and the award ceremony of the traditional English festival D&AD will be held in person in 2023. Normality in the format returns to one of the largest and most respected festivals of creativity in the world, three years after having adopted the model hybrid, in 2020, 2021 and 2022, due to the pandemic. Registration for D&AD 2023 is now open and a date has already been set: it will be held at The Truman Brewery, in London, from May 8 to 10. The award and unveiling ceremony for the coveted Pencils is scheduled for May 24th and 25th.
In this edition, the festival campaign was created by Re, a global design and experience company. The motto What making it is made of seeks to engage the global creative community, celebrating the power of creativity and the processes, tools and emotions that help creatives earn Pencil and find commercial success in the industry. The campaign will be launched on social networks.
The D&AD Awards aim to put creative ideas on the global stage so they can nurture more ideas and inspire the next generation of creative leaders. We know that the skill sets behind these ideas are incredibly diverse and the journey is not always easy. We are incredibly grateful to Re, led by founder Patrick Guerrera, for bringing this reality to life in such an immersive way, said Donal Keenan, Awards Director, D&AD.
Among the confirmed speakers are photographer Rankin; Ajaz Ahmend, CEO of AKQA; Dan Goods, visual strategist at NASA; and author Debbie Milman. As in the 2022 edition, the year in which the Russian war against Ukraine broke out, the festival will not accept entries from the Russian market and will continue with free entries for Ukrainian professionals and companies.
All information on judging criteria, award categories and entry prices can be found on the D&AD website.
