AgTech analytics as a service for the agro sector has doubled in size in the last two years.
Innovation stands out when using satellite monitoring, artificial intelligence, Big Data Analytics and other technological resources.
For the fourth consecutive year, agtech SciCrop, created in 2015 by José Damico and Renato Ferraz, takes its place on the podium of the 100 Open Startups awards, a digital matchmaking platform that uses technology and data to facilitate the co-creation of innovative businesses. The startup, which offers analytics as a service for the entire agribusiness chain, ranked 3rdo place among the Top 10 AgriTechs, in the 100 Open Startups 2022 ranking, after doubling in size in the last two years. So far, they have served more than 100 analytics projects, analyzed more than 2.5 million hectares and established themselves as market leaders in digital solutions for the agro chain.
The placement on the podium was marked by an award ceremony, which took place yesterday, from 5:50 pm to 10:00 pm at the Tomie Ohtake Rooftop, in São Paulo – Capital, and was attended by executives from the 100 Open Startups and 100 Open Corps awarded.
Every day, the SciCrop team monitors and cross-references satellite data with information about climate, soil, water and other variables, which makes it possible to make assertive predictions about upcoming crops, optimize costs, reduce environmental damage, practice ESG, increase profitability , among other benefits, all through analysis that uses Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, Analytics and, of course, Information Security. For José Damico, a specialist in digital technologies and CEO of the startup, the methodology of organization and data analysis are its great innovation differentials.
“We always knew that the amount of data was enormous and that, for each customer, there would be different demands. Basically, what we did was to develop a finite group of mathematical models capable of explaining most of all the optimization and prediction demands that exist in companies in the sector. I believe that, for an innovation to work in the long term, it needs to be focused on solving problems and be done by people and for people. Human engagement is the key part of the new creations, and that is what we value most here”, explains Damico.
For Renato Ferraz, founding partner of the startup, more than presenting new resources, it is important to know how to take advantage of what each business already has, adding to what can really make a big difference. “Immerse yourself in data first, propose solutions later – this is how we work to deliver precision agriculture. It is necessary to look very carefully at the information before recommending corrections and improvements in Digital Agriculture – which only works well when it is done in a personalized way”, concludes Renato.
