The final part of the “From Our Family to Yours” trilogy was developed and produced by Disney’s Consumer Products, Gaming & Publishing creative team.
Disney released its new Christmas short, entitled “O Presente”, which follows the trilogy “From Our Family to Yours”, which began to be told in 2020.
The three-minute film, in support of Make-A-Wish, celebrates the comfort stories bring to families during times of change and how they deepen their bonds through unity.
The first short, Lola, was released in 2020 and features Nicole and her grandmother Lola’s bond deepening as the festive traditions were passed down through the generations. The sequel to the story, released in 2021, Pai de Coração, accompanies an adult Nicole and her children, Max and Ella, receiving their stepfather Mike, who moves into the family home. Both videos reached over 184 million global views.
In the last phase of the story, “The Gift”, Nicole’s family prepares for the arrival of a new baby and shows the relationship between siblings, experienced through the eyes of Ella, who is adapting to a new family dynamic. The plot revolves around a plush Mickey Mouse, which connects the past, present and future. While older brother Max takes the toy to comfort Ella at night, she offers it to the newborn baby when she first sees him as a way of welcoming him into the family.
