In addition to employees, the event was attended by influencers from the black community
Publicis promoted a Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” session at JK Iguatemi’s Cinpolis for the company’s employees and guests. The crowning action is a series of diversity actions that the agency has been carrying out throughout the year.
Currently, Publicis has more than 130 black professionals on its staff, which is equivalent to 35% of the agency. In supervisory, management and board positions, the company has approximately 30% of black people in leadership.
We know that this is still a number that does not reflect the Brazilian population, and that is precisely why we have a series of initiatives to try to change this scenario, explained Cntia Pessoa, Director of Human Resources at Publicis.
One of the actions promoted by Publicis is “Entre”, the agency’s creative training program that trained 33 women, most of them black. In its fourth edition, the project completed a list of more than 123 trained professionals who were hired by Publicis.
In addition, for any open position, Publicis conducts targeted recruitment with approximately 40% of candidates presented to the applicant being people of color. The agency also works with an increasingly diversified cast in the campaigns of the brands served.
Publicis also works to encourage employees to participate in PWR* (Power World Revolution), a collective of black people from Publicis Groupe Brasil, made up of more than 75 members.
We know that it was only possible to hold this exclusive session due to the encouragement of other agency leaders. We still have a long way to go, with the aim of building an increasingly diverse team. We are happy with the legacy we are building, added Cintia Pessoa, PWR sponsor.
During the Publicis special session, guests included influencers/digital profiles from the black community: Pretitudes, Sueide Kinte, Wakanda Gossip, Tadeu Frana, Boutique de Krioula Michelle Fernandes and Juliana Souza.
