On the eve of the World Cup, Globo’s children’s app launches Passe das Estrelas, a gameplay developed by young people for children
Warming up for the World Cup will happen in a different way for children at Giga Gloob. Passes das Estrelas, an exclusive game for the children’s app developed in partnership with ge and AfroGames, will be launched on November 17th, three days before the start of the biggest football championship in the world. For non-subscribers, the gameplay will be available from November 17th to December 2nd.
In Pass of the Stars, the biggest football teams in the world need the help of the little ones, who will work on skills such as attention, motor coordination and strategy. Children will have to choose the player who will star in soccer matches representing Brazil against teams from around the planet. With care and strategy, dodging obstacles, the goal is to reach the end of the field and score a goal. New characters and collectibles are unlocked as matches are won.
The concept of the game came from a Game Jam idealized by Giga Gloob and promoted from the project between ge and AfroGames, which trains gamers from communities in Rio de Janeiro. During the competition, 13 young people aged between 13 and 28 years old – all members of the inclusion program – used their skills to develop the unprecedented project that would be based on two premises: having football as its theme and being aimed at the Giga Gloob audience, children from 4 to 7 years old.
Giga Gloob’s mission is to bring quality entertainment to early childhood children and diversity is an important part of the content we want to bring to our subscribers. We really believe in the work done by AfroGames and, therefore, we are very happy with the opportunity that ge has given us to support the project. I’m sure the game will bring a lot of fun and be a success!, said Tas Martins, Head of Digital Kids Products at Globo.
