According to research carried out on black entrepreneurship in Brazil by Preta HUB and JP Morgan (2019), of the total of 1,220 profiles of mapped ventures, approximately 75.24% are led by black people, specifically with regard to gender, 52% are led by women. According to the mapping, 40% of the enterprises are located in the Southeast region and 31% in the Northeast region. For 46%, entrepreneurship is the only way out. The objective of owning the business is to offer a possibility of income generation, since they choose “out of necessity and lack of opportunities”.
Other important data to be considered is that 95% of the interviewees want to expand the performance of the enterprises. Given the data, the promotion of black enterprises is necessary, in order to contribute to the development of black people, and, consequently, to the equal development of society.
In addition to the award, the project is committed to contributing to racial commitment, the development of black leaders and the qualification of entrepreneurs, taking into account the expertise: Financial education; Digital marketing; Business planning; Negotiation and pricing techniques; Business Settlement and Pitch for Business Presentation. 20 (twenty) black enterprises will be selected, 04 for each category (food, entertainment, beauty, fashion and social businesses), which will participate in 2 training trails. Of those selected, 2 (two) will be awarded for each category, totaling 10 (ten) winning projects worth BRL 40,000.00 (forty thousand reais) each.
