Spotify launched its Retrospective of the Year this Wednesday (30). The moment is one of the most awaited by the platform’s subscribers, not only to see who was the most heard artist of the year, but also to find out what their own experience on the platform was like.
The Spotify Retrospective consists of a compilation of the main artists, songs, albums and podcasts that were most listened to by the more than 400 million users of the application.
In Brazil, country singer Marlia Mendona, who died in November 2021, continues to lead the ranking, followed by the duo Henrique & Juliano; Jorge & Mateus, Gusttavo Lima and Maiara & Maraisa.
In the case of the most heard songs, “Mal Feito – Ao Vivo”, by Hugo & Guilherme, won the first position. In second and third place are “Malvado 3” by Xam and “Vai L Em Casa Hoje” by George Henrique & Rodrigo (#3). Complete the list “Molhando o Volante”, by Jorge & Mateus and “Danarina”, by Pedro Sampaio.
Sertanejo artists also lead the category of “most listened to albums in Brazil”. The first position went to “Musical Manifesto”, by Henrique & Juliano, followed by “Festa das Patroas 35%”, by Marlia Mendona, Maiara & Maraisa; “Buteco in Boston (Live)”, by Gusttavo Lima; “Prximo Passo”, by Hugo & Guilherme and, finally, “Chama Meu Nome”, by Pedro Sampaio.
In the podcasts category, Pohpah occupied the first position among the most listened to podcasts in the country and the 24th position in the platform’s global ranking. The program is presented by Igo and Mtico, followed by “A Mulher da Casa Abandonada”, presented by Chico Felitti; “Mano a Mano”, performed by Mano Brown; “Café da Manh” by Folha de S. Paulo and “Psicologia na Pratica”.
Already in the global sphere, reggaeton occupies the first position with Bad Bunny being the most listened artist during the year, with more than 18.3 billion streams this year. The second most streamed artist and most streamed female artist of the year is Taylor Swift, followed by Drake, The Weeknd and BTS.
The most listened artist, Bad Bunny, also tops the list of most listened albums with “Un Verano Sin Ti”, followed by Harry Styles’ third studio album, “Harrys House”, “SOUR” by Olivia Rodrigo. “=” by Ed Sheeran and “Planet Her” by Doja Cat.
On the other hand, Pop conquered the rank of most listened to music in the world with the song “As It Was”, by Harry Styles occupying the first place in the ranking, with more than 1.5 billion streams.
