In 2023, The Walt Disney Company celebrates a century since its inception. Founded on October 16, 1923 by Walt Disney and Roy Oliver Disney, the company is today one of the largest entertainment companies in the world, operating in several market areas, such as cinema, television, parks and many others.
To commemorate this milestone, the Disney is preparing one of the biggest celebrations in the company’s history for 2023, through major global activations. In Brazil, fans could already get into the celebratory mood from CCXP 2022, which took place recently in São Paulo.
The biggest pop culture event in Latin America officially marked the beginning of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company through a large dedicated space at the brand’s stand, where the public could learn a little more about the company’s history, interact with the character Zé Carioca and share your favorite memories of the company throughout the century.
In addition, throughout 2023, the disney brazil will feature a range of new, commemorative actions and releases, including themed consumer product collections, fan experiences and special content.
Around the world, celebrations will also be in full swing. Disney parks, for example, will have decorations alluding to the 100 years, special food and drinks, experiences with characters and shows. A new release will also arrive in national and international theaters to celebrate 100 years: the musical film “Wish”, which features a plot focused on the wishing star – known for the song “When You Wish Upon a Star”, from “Pinocchio” (1940), and which is also the opening theme of Disney studio productions.
