Virgilio Abranches, Jercineide Castro and Leandro Cipoloni were promoted by the broadcaster
CNN has announced changes to its structure in order to maintain a financial balance for the coming year. The station, which had already fired more than 100 journalists, ended the role of CEO, occupied until last month by Renata Afonso, and will promote three VPs Virgilio Abranches, Jercineide Castro and Leandro Cipoloni.
This information was disclosed to employees through an internal communication, which PROPMARK had access to.
Abranches, former VP of programming and cross-platform, will take over as VP of content and operations. Under his care will be the strategic and administrative management of the departments linked to the content.
Former CFO, Jercineide Castro becomes VP of management and business, being responsible for managing support areas, such as commercial, distribution, marketing, legal, among others. Castro will also take care of CNN International’s business team.
Leandro Cipoloni, finally, will be the VP of journalism, and will be in charge of organizing and guiding the broadcaster’s journalistic and editorial content on all platforms where CNN is present, in addition to taking care of the relationship with the editorial team of CNN Internacional .
The executive chairman will be João Camargo, who will have the support of Accio Costa, whose role will be executive secretary of the council.
