In an interview with the Splash column, João Camargo stated that the broadcaster will launch CNN Brasil FM ‘in the coming months’
After announcing changes in its structure, last week, CNN Brasil will migrate to open TV from the second half of 2023. The information was published this weekend by the column Splash, from UOL, signed by Guilherme Ravache.
In a column interview, CEO Joo Camargo also stated that, in the coming months, the station will launch CNN Brasil on the radio. Currently, CNN Brasil maintains a partnership with Transamerica, and has had a space on the radio grid since October 2020.
About the recent dismissals, Camargo said that there was no way to postpone the cuts. The longer it took, the worse the health of the business would get, he said. Layoffs are tough, mainly because we’ve had to cut talented people.
The changes, disclosed last week, are aimed at balancing finances for next year. The station promoted three VPs Virgilio Abranches, Jercineide Castro and Leandro Cipoloni.
Abranches will assume the position of VP of content and operations and Leandro Cipoloni will be the VP of journalism. Jercineide Castro, former CFO, will become VP of management and business.
