More than 40 countries, emblematic football stadium, legendary international women’s team, Frenchmen who will honor Mbappé and Brazil in the spotlight. Starting this Tuesday (13), Pavilhão Pacaembu, in São Paulo (SP), will become the center of the electronic sports world to host the international stage of the biggest VALORANT tournament for university students, the Red Bull Campus Clutch. With a prize of 20,000 euros for the winner, young people face electrifying disputes of the game that was elected, by the ‘Oscar’ of the category, the best eSports of the year. FPS fans will be able to follow all the emotions in loco, through free tickets, available through the link, or through the global broadcast on Twitch in Portuguese, English or Spanish.
National champion, Scroll Lock will represent Brazil in the world stage. With several well-known players from the ranked and professional scene, the team has UrangO (Administration – Mackenzie), nand1nh0 (System Analysis and Development – CEUNSP), Lula Molusco (Law – Univr), Fluyr (Electrical Engineering – USP) and Gbzjn (IT – Uniasselvi). UrangO says:
“Representing the country, in a World Cup, precisely at the Pacaembu Pavilion, is something incredible. I always liked football, and the place is in the history of Brazil. I believe the level will be very high. It will be nice to share this experience with people from other countries, but what we are aiming for is something very interesting. Everyone gets very anxious, because that’s the limit we can reach. We hope to qualify and win the tournament.”
Brazil will debut on Tuesday (13). The team is in Group B, alongside South Africa, New Zealand, Romania, Czech Republic and Switzerland. The games will be played in the MD1 format, with the top two advancing to the knockout stage of the competition, on Thursday (15).
Tribute to Mbappé, curious stories and free ticket
With more than 40 countries involved, the Red Bull Campus Clutch will bring together several curious stories. The French team, Mbapeek, arrives at the event honoring one of the main football players of the current generation, while the Bosnia and Herzegovina team has a young basketball player who already plays outside the country. There are also teams from India, Peru and Slovenia that also have soccer players. The female lineup of G2, an international team with players who have already been CS:GO and VALORANT world champions, will be present for a showmatch in an unprecedented and special way in front of FURIA.
On the 13th and 14th, all countries join the server for group stage matches, all in MD1 format. The two best in each group advance to the round of 16, on Thursday (15), when the games become MD3. The sixth (16) will feature the semifinals and finals, with the decision in the MD5 format. The world champion team will win €20,000 and a VIP experience on the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023. In 2022, the Red Bull Campus Clutch will also have global partnerships with Intel NUC, SteelSeries, AGON by AOC and Backforce.
The Brazilian public will be able to follow all the knockout games in person, at Pavilhão Pacaembu. Tickets for the 15th and 16th are free.
