A uSharkglobal cryptocurrency platform for investments in startups, announces the investment of US$ 4.3 million in the first 10 invested startups, 6 of them Brazilian: DataSíntese (Big Data-USA), Paygiliant (Cybersecurity -Israel), Sling Insurance ( Cybersecurity -Israel), Wisesight (IA – Israel), Agholmes (IA – Brazil), Cyklope (IA-Brazil), Kalliandra (IoT – Brazil), Agrimapp (AgTech – Brazil), AgroInsight (AgTech – Brazil) and Fire Limit ( Biotech – Brazil).
“We are very happy to announce that more than half of the selected startups are Brazilian. Our initial pool selected six Brazilian companies focused on agribusiness (two Artificial Intelligence-AI startups, one IoT startup, two agtechs and one biotech). Furthermore, the DataSynthesis of Big Data today is American, but it was born Brazilian”, declares Geraldo Marques, CEO and founder of uShark. “Soon we will announce a second wave of investee startups that are part of this first pool of investees, with which we are already in advanced negotiations”, declares Marques.
The companies will receive their respective amounts invested in dollars and the total of each one will be distributed over six months, from the proof of the application of resources in the business and the results obtained. All selected startups had their KPIs evaluated by 7 specialists called “uShark Angels”, led by Kiran Govindaraju, alumni of the Harvard Business School and member of the Harvard Angels Chicago. After this process, they were also approved by the investment committee of the private equity fund uShark Investments LP and, finally, by a vote of the investors holding the tokens.
USH is listed on 3 crypto exchanges and sold the equivalent of $14.5 million
The DeFi USH token created by uShark is already listed on 3 global brokers, including one of the world’s leading crypto exchanges, BigOne Asia, and has had an unprecedented trajectory. “We won over 26,000 investors from 59 countries in less than six months. We raised the equivalent of US$14.5 million and are expected to invest approximately US$8 million in 15 other startups soon. In addition, we will invest around US$ 2 million in the creation of our own startup accelerator that will be based in London”, declares Geraldo Marques, CEO of uShark.
In addition to investors, the resources contributed to startups also come from investment funds that partner with Ushark, including the Alfa Lumen Fund in Dubai, at the DMCC. Recently, uShark formalized its alliance and Alfa Lumen Funds received authorization from the FDI and the DMCC to take business from any part of the American continent (North, Central and South America) to Dubai, orchestrated by Marcelo Callegari, Chairman of uShark . The Alfa Lumen Fund may take delegations of executives to the region and promote business between the United Arab Emirates and other countries in the Americas.
The main reason for the success of the uShark business is linked to the fact that, unlike tokens and cryptoassets without backing or assets, the uShark platform clearly meets this demand. The funds raised from the sale of tokens are already being invested in a diverse and global portfolio of startups from renowned partner Hubs and Accelerators, both in Brazil and in other countries, such as: USA, Israel, Canada and United Arab Emirates.
