Functionality will be available for the first time in Brazil and Latin America
From the 8th to the 16th of this month, the Summer Podpah will be aired. The project is done in partnership with Spotify, with the opening episodes (the 8th and 9th) and the closing (the 15th and 16th) available exclusively for free on the platform.
In the special series, presenters Igão and Mitico bring interviews daily and outdoors in northeastern Brazil.
Podpah is the first podcaster to use the videocast functionality, made available in Brazil and Latin America by Spotify. For the audience, you can choose between displaying the video active (with the image in the foreground) or just in the background.
“Since we started Podpah we’ve said that we’re not just going to do a mesacast. We have been betting on and creating different content, such as live 24 hours and Arraiá. Summer Podpah is a project that excites us a lot because it is totally different from what we have already done. Having a partnership with Spotify, which is the largest audio streaming platform in the world, fills us with pride and shows that it will be a success. A lot of good people will spend this week with us in the Northeast. All you have to do is call and check it out”, say Mítica and Igão.
Javier Piñol, director of Spotify Studios in Latin America and US Latin, comments that streaming audio is the fastest growing, most innovative and most creative space in media today. “We’ve seen the growth of the local market, in which the creators community demonstrates strong engagement in the format and in creating powerful and creative content, such as the Summer Podpah project. We are in a unique global position to create authentic programming relevant to listeners and , for that, we present new features, such as video, which makes an experience more immersive than ever, allowing fans to feel more connected to the creators and vice versa”, he says.
The participations of MC Livinho, comedian Rico Melquiades and Pernambuco singer João Gomes, artist with the most heard album (Eu Tem a senha) in 2021 on Spotify in Brazil, among others, have already been confirmed.
