Sponsorships include the São Silvestre International Race, São Paulo Marathon and Rio International Half Marathon
With street races gradually returning to the calendar amid the advance of vaccination in the country, Assaí Atacadista closed partnerships with some of the main competitions.
The company will support the 96th São Silvestre International Race, the main event of its kind in Latin America and which closes the national sporting year on December 31, the 26th São Paulo International Marathon, in April of next year, and the 24th Half Rio de Janeiro International Marathon, in August 2022. This month, the 22nd Volta Internacional da Pampulha, held on the 12th in Belo Horizonte (MG), also had investment from the company.
Marly Yamamoto, Director of Marketing and Customer Management at Assaí Atacadista, says that street racing can transform lives and, in the current scenario, it also helps people to resume their physical exercise routine. “Essential for public health at a time when vaccination is advancing in Brazil. In this way, we believe that contributing to the holding of events brings us closer and shows the importance that Assaí dedicates to the relationship with its customers, directly contributing to benefit local communities where the company operates”, he assesses.
With 211 stores in 24 states, including the Federal District, and more than 57 thousand employees, Assaí has a tradition of supporting and valuing sporting events in the country. This year, in addition to being title sponsor of the Brazilian Championship, the Brasileirão Assaí, the company was also the official wholesaler of the Copa do Nordeste, the most traditional football event in the region.
The company also expanded its relationship with soccer, in a new partnership with the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), to sponsor the Projeto Origens, which brings together the championships of the Brazilian men’s soccer base leagues (Brazilian Under-20, Cup Under-17, among others) and is responsible for the technical and human development of more than two thousand athletes. Finally, Assaí also sponsors the Paulista Championship, for men and women in football.
