Strength starts with F for Feminine, for Fuck@, for Fantastic, for Fortitude, for Flexibility.
Not by chance, all these characteristics belong to women, and here we are not just talking about women who were framed as such, as a result of the anatomy of their bodies or their genetics. We are talking about every woman who calls herself a woman because that denomination reflects her gender identity.
And here we already make a hook with the Women’s Music Events Awards, an annual Brazilian music award dedicated to empowering WOMEN, because a very important detail caught our attention: women occupy almost all spaces at the event, if not all, and see this up close was beautiful!
The soundboard was under the command of two women, as well as the cameras. They weren’t cameramen, they were camerawomen! Do you have any idea how fantastic this is (and almost contradictory, in a segment largely dominated by testosterone, such as music)?
Being able to see and feel represented beyond the stage is an immense joy and satisfaction. We confess that we were radiant and excited (autocorrect insists on putting that last sentence in the masculine… No dear, we women are in charge here!)
Monique Dardenne, one of the founders of the WME project, had this to say about the diversity behind the scenes:
“WME’s DNA is this, to empower and raise women’s self-esteem in music, not just on stage, but in everything that involves production, technical and intellectual operation. Which brings this real sense of representativeness in all jobs within the event”.
This is exactly what we are talking about, promoting female participation wherever she wants to be, stay, perform and transform. A woman’s place is really where she wants to be.
And that also applies to the world of advertising, still dominated by men. We need to have freedom of choice even when everything tells us we cannot: women found fewer companies, they still occupy few leadership positions, receive less investment and, the most absurd of all, they earn/we earn 30% less to perform the same tasks and /or functions.
Yeah, nobody said it would be easy, did they? We know, however, that together we can change and break these paradigms, mainly through that innate power that comes from within, which fills the world with the ability to see others, to be more empathetic, more sensitive, more multimedia, even because we are the owners of p@rra all over here; paraphrasing, we know how to put our tits on the table!
We women are the opposite of the negative side of the force, we come with the ability to inspire, generate, illuminate and, above all, shine.
And honestly, do you think any man noticed this “mere” detail? We’re pretty sure not (but we hope we’re wrong).
