Juscelino Filho and Paulo Pimenta were the names announced by the elected government
In a press conference held this Thursday (29th) in Brasilia, president-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva announced Juscelino Filho as Minister of Communications, and Paulo Pimenta as Secretary of Social Communication.
In addition to them, Lula announced 14 other names that will head ministries such as Agriculture, Mines and Energy, Planning, among others.
Born in São Luís (MA), Juscelino Filho is a doctor, businessman and re-elected federal deputy since 2014. He will occupy the position that was held by Fabio Faria.
Gacho Paulo Pimenta, in turn, is also a federal deputy (he is in his fifth term), a journalist and agricultural technician from UFSM (Federal University of Santa Maria).
Communications is the Ministry that is responsible for taking care of telecommunications policy, broadcasting and postal services, such as the Post Office. Secom, on the other hand, directly linked to the Presidency of the Republic, is responsible for disclosing Government actions, implementing communication policies, etc.
