King of Football died last Thursday (29), aged 82, in SP
The brands paid homage to Pel in campaigns that are on Internet TV. Vivo, for example, launched its magazine on the night of the 29th, during the Jornal Nacional break. “What is infinity? what is most grandiose, what enraptures us, makes us look up… what makes us dream. Today infinity has another name. Thank you infinitely, Pel. A tribute from Vivo to king of football,” he wrote on his Instagram profile.
Ita, on the other hand, wrote ‘Obrigado, Pel’, putting the name of the King of Football in place of the name of the bank itself. Another bank, Santander, also thanked Pel, and highlighted the partnership between both in the past. “Thanks, Pel. You are Eternal – the greatest of all time. The entire Santander Family is very grateful and proud that we played on the same team!”
Skin and advertising have always had a very close relationship and, of course, for obvious reasons. The greatest player of all time starred in emblematic campaigns, such as the jingle ‘Toda Criança na Escola’, created by the Ministry of Education, during the government of Fernando Henrique Cardoso; and Bombril, alongside Carlos Moreno.
Born in Três Coraes (MG), Pel won three of the five World titles for the Brazilian team. For Santos, his favorite club, he conquered the world twice, in addition to having stopped a civil war, in Congo, in 1969, for a friendly match with the Santos team.
