A Petlovethe largest pet ecosystem in Brazil, announces the arrival of the second edition of #BlackCatFriday, which takes place on Friday the 13th. The brand, which started this movement in May last year, wants to turn the date into an exclusive Black Friday for cats and their tutors, with up to 50% discount on products and the objective of deconstructing the myths involving felines with black fur, which are often victims of mistreatment due to an erroneous association with bad luck.
Created by CP+B, the campaign will have 100% digital content, promoted on the brand’s platforms, and will feature a new protagonist, Agatha, a black cat who, contrary to widespread prejudice in the popular imagination, will bring true luck advice, demystifying the stigmas surrounding cats. With each new advice, a discount coupon will also be made available that can be used within the brand’s application and e-commerce.
In addition to the benefits and special promotions for cats and their guardians, the brand will encourage the adoption of black cats through a partnership with the São Paulo NGO Catland. Coupons with the name and history of the pets available for adoption at the institution, such as “Lua Cheia”, will be made available on the brand’s website. For people who adopt the kittens in search of a home, Petlove will offer a free year of health insurance plus a 15% discount coupon and free shipping on the first recurring purchase.
Filipe Botton, Head of Brand and Communication at Petlove, comments:
“We appropriated Friday the 13th, turning these occasions into relevant dates in our calendar. We want to be remembered as a brand that deconstructs myths, thinking about the well-being of cats and pets in general, in addition to the objective of being a reference for feline tutors when they are looking for the best products and services for their cats. We know that 21% of cats in shelters are black and this is not a coincidence, as these animals are victims of unfounded prejudice. Therefore, this is an opportune time to talk about this topic, using our space as a company to do what is right for pets.”
Ana Novis, Creative Director at CP+B, concludes:
“A campaign that will transform all stereotypes surrounding black cats into a positive date, either through important and fun content or through concrete transformational actions.”
The campaign runs from January 13th to 15th and the contents can be followed through the brand’s platforms.
