The Critics Choice folks made their love for Everything Everywhere at the same time. There were 5 awards, including best film. Os Banshees de Inishekidney was totally ignored. And Cate Blanchett and Brendan Fraser show that they have one foot in the Oscars. Between the series, they finally awarded Better call Saul and Bob Odenkirk – there was even a joke about the subject. And yet critics have demonstrated their preferences for Abbott Elementary between comedies and The Dropout between limited series.
But one thing that always bothers me about Critics Choice delivery is the differentiations. Some categories are only mentioned. Others are announced together, such as supporting series. Even Seth Rogen gave a good review on the subject, including saying that it shouldn’t be so expensive, I got more time on the CW channel (where the award was shown in the USA). I completely agree with him. I think it’s disrespectful. Or decrease the number of categories, or increase the time, right?
