Mynd, an influencer marketing and entertainment agency, has just announced the indigenous influencer Kauri as a new agent. Known as “Daldeia”, he joins the company’s more than 400 agents, who will be responsible for managing his image and strategic commercial planning with brands that fit his profile, in order to identify opportunities in the advertising market.
Fátima Pissarra, CEO of Mynd, says:
“One of the main pillars that exist at Mynd, since its creation in 2017, is diversity. Kauri’s arrival at our casting reinforces our commitment to constantly evolving and seeking this plurality. We believe that change needs to come from the inside out of companies, so that everyone can feel represented in advertisements. We are very happy and excited to add even more efforts to his career, which allows us so many possibilities.”
Kauri is 28 years old and is part of the Karapijuty village, located in Amapá. The native has always been involved with art and started with music, migrating to photography. During the pandemic, in 2020, he unpretentiously created a TikTok account and published a video showing a traditional party of his people. The next day when he woke up, the video had reached the milestone of one million views, in addition to having gained more than 40,000 followers on the social network.
He continued posting content and interacting with the public, in a humorous way and showing details and curiosities about his culture. Her videos and posts, cheerful and fun, seek to go beyond entertainment and bring information to non-indigenous people. With that, Kauri went viral on the internet and already has almost 2.5 million followers on social networks, with more than 2 million on Tik Tok and more than 300 thousand on Instagram. Kauri comments:
“I am very happy with this new stage in my career. I am certain that this partnership with Mynd will help me grow even more and make new dreams come true. My mission is to give voice to my people and bring knowledge about our culture to society. I am very excited about the possibility of working with brands that I admire and share the same essence and values as me.”
His first language is Tupi Guarani, and currently, in addition to being an influencer, he is studying an indigenous intercultural degree at the Federal University of Amapá. He is also host of the podcast Papo dos Isolados and photographer. He is the second eldest of 22 children, married to Romana Waiapi and the father of five children.
