Next Tuesday, the 24th of January, at the Centro Cultural de São Paulo, the ceremony of the Brasil Criativo Prize will take place, sanctioned since 2014 by the Ministry of Culture as an official award for the creative economy in the country. The initiative, which already had the institutional support of Unesco, is carried out by the World Creativity Organization (WCO), an international community that works to promote the value of creativity as a raw material for sustainable economic development.
The award arrives in its fourth edition as the main recognition to Brazilian entrepreneurs and creative businesses in the areas of Architecture, Urban Art, Crafts, Audiovisual, Content Creation, Design, Games, Gastronomy, Fashion, Music, Advertising, Startups and Technology, in addition to of special consecration for Leaders, Communities and Creative Territories.
On the eve of the anniversary of the city of São Paulo and already connected with the pre-Carnival actions in the capital of São Paulo, Brasil Criativo will have an artistic presentation by the Afro Block Ilu Oba de Min and by the singer, actress and indigenous activist Kaê Guajajara.
Lucas Foster, creator and curator of the Brasil Criativo Award, says:
“Culture and creativity are extremely potent from the point of view of social and economic development. Not by chance, the creative economy dialogues with the most diverse sectors. The Brasil Criativo Award was born from the dream of showing that creativity is part of the essence of the Brazilian people and to recognize this new generation of creative entrepreneurs who are helping to transform markets and the country.”

The jury for the current edition is made up of 37 important figures in the most diverse areas of activity linked to the creative economy. Among them, names like Alexandre Gibotti (ABAP), Aline Torres (São Paulo City Hall), Edson Leite (Peripheral Gastronomy), Bernardo Mendes (Druid), Felipe Cuvero (D’OM), Graça Cabral (SPFW), Luiz Serafim ( 3M), Miriam Lerner (City Bazaar), Monique Evelle (Inventivos), Ronaldo Fraga and Rafaela Lotto (Youpix).
The current edition of the Brasil Criativo Award is presented by 3M, sponsored by SEBRAE, supported by the São Paulo Secretariat of Culture, Municipal Secretariat for Economic Development and Labor of São Paulo, Progen and the National Culture Forum, institutional partnership of CriaBrasilis, organization of Elo 3 and realization World Creativity Organization.
