Provoking people from São Paulo to think about the future of the city, health, education, mobility and science in an innovative and creative way. This is the purpose of the Cidade do Futuro Festival, an event that will take place on the 25th, in the historic center of São Paulo, in celebration of the Capital’s anniversary. The initiative will have 40 futuristic arenas, bringing together 469 speakers in more than 300 hours of simultaneous programming. With free admission, more than 10 thousand people are expected in the second edition of the festival.
Promoted by the city’s startup ecosystem, in partnership with the Municipality of São Paulo and ProCentro, the event seeks to boost innovation and creativity in the city while valuing its historical heritage. Future of Climate: Curated by Carol Levy (Venture Builder for impact startups and ESG consultant), the Futuro do Clima arena will discuss topics related to the environment, sustainability and ESG. Among the highlights, a panel on the Future of Conscious Consumption.
Future of Education: Curated by Leo Ferreira (Innovation Manager at Faber-Castell) and Igor La Luz (specialist in the management of educational environments), the Arena Futuro da Educação will debate the changes brought about in the area of education, especially after Covid-19. Thus, it will discuss the growth of distance learning and the new technologies that have emerged.
Future of Mobility: Transforming cities is the solution for us to live in ideal conditions for urban mobility, especially in the city of São Paulo. During the Festival, this event will bring themes such as mobility for people, active mobility, shared mobility, electric vehicles, data analytics, trends and connectivity & integration. Curated by Naomi Kerkhoff (entrepreneur, mentor and prototyping consultant for startups).
Future of Health and Wellness: Organized by curators Tandara Costa and Ana Carolina Candido, this event will bring health specialists and other chain actors, as well as public sector executives, to address innovation trends in the health system. Topics such as the growing demand for digital health in times of a pandemic and trends in personalizing medicine will be some of the highlights.
Peripheral Entrepreneurs: Curated by Mayara Torres (lawyer and project management student), the Futuro das Periferias arena will debate and highlight the initiatives that reinvent themselves every day, despite the challenges of the peripheries. The intention of this arena is to strengthen peripheral entrepreneurship, showing that innovation also pulsates in the hood and that the future of São Paulo is also built by peripheral hands and minds.
Pridetech: Curated by Rafael Costa (actor, event producer, community manager at the District’s innovation hub and member of the LGBTQIAP+ community), the PrideTech arena will bring in-depth discussions on the visibility and inclusion of the LGBTQIAP+ public. With panels on LGBT Community Challenges, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Positive Referential, among others, this event will focus on diversity issues.
Afrofuturism: Organized by curator Juliana Motta (social communicator, active in the area of innovation and one of the coordinators of Raizes, an ethnic-racial affinity group), the Afrofuturismo arena will also be dedicated to diversity issues, but with a deeper bias towards racial debates . With panels on how technology transforms the lives of black people, the scenario of black people’s startups in the state and the power of ancestry in entrepreneurship, the event hopes to include diverse people and impact them on the topics covered.
Future of Love: Organized by Carol Polyodoro (CEO and co-founder of Recruta-Imob, HRTech and Edtech for the real estate and civil construction market), the Futuro do Amor arena will discuss the technology of personalities and the different ways of loving, as well as self-love: 1. step into the frequency of the future.
Future of Science: Curated by Thais Cardoso Franco (CEO and co-founder of the company Quasar Space), the event will address topics such as health in the 21st century, food science of the future, scientific advances in the space sector, among others.
Among the other arenas that will mark the 2nd edition of the event are: The Future of Work, The Future of Democracy, The Future of Law, The Future of Music, The Future of Games and The Future of Games.
