São Paulo and Brahma prepared a special gift for São Paulo fans. And right on this Wednesday, the 25th, the club’s anniversary, which completes 93 years. And to celebrate Tricolor’s history full of achievements, nothing better than honoring the greatest coach in the club’s history: Telê Santana.
Thus, the association and the brand inaugurate a statue of the eternal master, at Estádio do Morumbi. Twice world and South American champion, in 1992 and 1993, among other titles, Telê remains eternalized in the hearts of all São Paulo! Now even more!
The launch will be attended by the club’s current president, Julio Casares, the manager at the time, José Eduardo Mesquita Pimenta, and Telê’s son, Renê Santana. The statue will be displayed in front of Gate 2 of the stadium. The initiative also has a partnership with Octagon Latam, a sports marketing agency.
Lucas Lobão, Ambev’s São Paulo regional marketing manager, comments:
“Being part of the most important moments in the history of São Paulo is being able to participate in tributes like this. In our long-term partnership with Tricolor, we have strengthened our relationship with those who helped build this rich history of the club, whether past or present idols, always valuing even more the fans’ relationship with them.”
Eduardo Toni, Executive Director of Marketing for São Paulo, says:
“Telê Santana is the master who took São Paulo to the highest level of conquests. It is a tribute to a man who is a fundamental part of the almost centenary history of our dear Tricolor and the realization of a dream. Telê, who was already eternal in the memory of all São Paulo, is now eternalized with his statue in front of Morumbi, the stadium where he led São Paulo to many joys and glories on so many occasions.”
Nicolas Mêmolo, project manager at Octagon Latam, says:
“For us, it is always an honor to work alongside Ambev, especially with such an emblematic brand for Brazilian football as Brahma. In this partnership, we idealized the project and produced the statue as a gift for the fans, immortalizing the idol of one of the biggest clubs in the country.”
