For every R$1 collected, a plate of food will be donated to the NGO Ao da Cidadania, which will direct donations to SOS Yanomami
Mastecard launched a donation channel called Mastercad Donate, in partnership with the NGO Ao da Cidadania.
Through the platform, customers can register their Mastercard cards and authorize the rounding of each purchase. For every R$1 raised, a plate of food will be donated to the NGO Ao da Cidadania, which will direct donations to SOS Yanomami. The campaign will run through 2023.
Ação da Cidadania and Mastercard brought this proposal to Brazil with the aim of offering more facilities to customers who wish to contribute to our actions to combat hunger. Every R$ 1 collected is equivalent to a plate of food. So, from penny to penny, we can transform the lives of thousands of families, explained Rodrigo Kiko Afonso, executive director of Ação da Cidadania.
Still in the fight against hunger, Mastercard launched, in June 2020, the movement “Be part: start what is priceless”, an initiative that aimed to help the country overcome the Covid-19 pandemic through collective actions to minimize the impact of the disease on society. In all, 23 million meals were delivered to local partners World Vision and Citizenship Action.
At Mastercard, we develop partnerships that combine our payments expertise with our global network of issuers, merchants, partners and consumers to drive initiatives that generate a positive impact in our community, explained Sarah Buchwitz, Vice President of Communication and Marketing at Mastercard Brasil.
