Survey, carried out by Latam PR and Communications Census, heard 500 professionals from the region
A study published by Latam PR and Communications Census, and carried out with 500 professionals in the region, showed that 68% of respondents said that the employer had made layoffs since the beginning of the pandemic. On the contrary, 67% said they had received a salary increase in the last 12 months.
The census found that currently, 50% of the region’s public relations and communications talent is working remotely full-time, while another 24% are in the office full-time, with the remainder splitting their time between both modalities.
Of those who did not fully return to the office, 28% have no plans to return, claiming that they want to remain entirely at home office. The average salary across the profession is $45,201 although this figure increases to $46,446 for men and decreases to $43,276 for women.
“With the recession in Europe and the US, companies will seek to expand their business to other regions. And, in this respect, Latin American countries have the necessary geographical and economic conditions, especially Brazil, Mexico, Chile and Colombia,” said Pedro Cadina , CEO of Vianews Latin America.
