Journalist was the first to go live on Jornal Nacional and inaugurated the era of high definition TV
Journalist Glória Maria died in Rio de Janeiro, this Thursday (2). The journalist was hospitalized at the Copa Star Hospital, in the south zone. Brazilian television icon, Glória had been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2019.
According to Globo’s statement, she even underwent treatment with immunotherapy at the time, which was successful, but some time later, Glória suffered metastasis in her brain, which was treated through surgery, but the new treatments did not advance.

There are many legacies left by Glória over the course of her five-decade career. The journalist was the first to go live on Jornal Nacional, inaugurating the era of high definition television, in addition to having visited more than 100 countries in reports.
Glória also started the era of participative reporters, I tried to jump bungee jumps, fly hang gliders, climb mountains, always with a microphone in my hands. In addition to having starred in interviews with important names in the world, such as Freddie Mercury, Mick Jagger, Madonna and Michael Jackson.
