Amidst the summer heat and humidity, SC Johnson and OFF!, one of SC Johnson’s leading insect repellent brands, launch a national social media challenge to encourage consumers to protect themselves from mosquitoes and to increase raising awareness about ways to prevent and combat diseases transmitted by these insects.
Led by Fisk Johnson, Chairman and CEO of SC Johnson, in partnership with Brazilian influencers, such as Tata Werneck, the #ViraOJogoComOFF challenge defends prevention as the best protection against mosquitoes and invites consumers to “turn the bucket” to eliminate water sources stop, potential breeding grounds for transmitting mosquitoes. Fisher Johnson says:
“Our decades of experience in this field show that standing water poses a huge risk as it becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes that can transmit many harmful diseases such as Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya. The #ViraOJogoComOFF challenge shows that if we all work together towards a common goal and take a simple action like ‘turn the bucket’, we can make a significant impact in the community, helping to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases.”
The #ViraOJogoComOFF challenge begins on January 30th with Fisk Johnson, Tata Werneck and other influencers encouraging consumers to participate in the challenge by posting creative ways to “turn the bucket” to help prevent the spread of mosquitoes on their profiles on social channels. By removing potential mosquito breeding sites in standing water, participants in the #ViraOJogoComOFF challenge can help reduce mosquito populations in their communities and help prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases.
