After Mickey’s, Minnie’s, Donald Duck’s and Daisy’s aircraft, now it’s Goofy’s turn to be part of the ‘Most Magical Fleet in the World’
Azul Linhas Aéreas and Walt Disney World Resort Florida continue the co-branding that united the two companies for the launch of yet another aircraft from the ‘Most Magical Fleet in the World’. In an event held in Campinas (SP), in the airline’s hangar, the companies revealed that Goofy will be the character who will inspire the fifth themed plane. The plane is scheduled for delivery in late 2023 and joins four other Disney character-inspired planes: Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck and Daisy.
“Today is a very special day for all of us. In addition to celebrating the success of this partnership between Azul and the Walt Disney World Resort, we are also announcing an expansion of our relationship that will include another plane for A Frota Mais Mágica do Mundo, bringing one of the characters most admired by Brazilians, the Goofy”, said John Rodgerson, CEO of Azul. This new aircraft will meet requests from our customers and Disney fans in Brazil for an airplane inspired by Goofy on Azul’s social media. This return made the fifth aircraft in this fleet a reality,” he added.
The aircraft called “Goofy in the Clouds” will join the other four planes of the “Most Magical Fleet in the World”, launched by Azul between October 2021 and November 2022, the beginning of the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort: “Mickey Mouse in the Clouds”, “Minnie Mouse in the Clouds”, “Donald Duck in the Clouds” and “Daisy in the Clouds”. The fleet operates on domestic routes at more than 50 airports throughout Brazil.
“This is a huge moment for us as we celebrate the success of having an entire fleet inspired by our beloved Disney characters spread the magic of Walt Disney World across the country,” said Javier Moreno, senior vice president, Disney Destinations. “Brazil has long held a special place in the hearts of our Disney family, going back to the 1940s. We know that Brazil loves Disney, and Walt Disney World is an incredibly popular vacation choice for Brazilians. The planes celebrate this special relationship and we are thrilled with the positive reaction they have brought”.
