Through the Favela 3D project, partners with support from the City of So Paulo will impact 290 families
The Town announced the NGO Gerando Falces and Gerdau as its new partners and the support of the So Paulo City Hall to show how joining forces can make a big difference in people’s lives.
Based on the Favela 3D project (Digital, Dignified and Developed), the festival and its partners will unite to break the cycle of poverty in Favela do Haiti, located in the Southeast Zone of São Paulo, through a scalable and sustainable methodology that will be implemented for community development.
With the project, 290 families will be impacted by actions that promote community strengthening, employability, entrepreneurship, professional training and individualized monitoring of families until December 2024. The initiative is part of the purpose For a Better World, born in Rock in Rio, which connects people through music and helps transform lives through causes.
Leading this project is very special to us. We are going to offer all the mobilization potential that a brand like The Town carries. With this partnership with Favela 3D, we want to inspire people, companies, bodies and institutions to join The Town and spread this initiative throughout the country, promoting changes in the quality of life of thousands of people. With a powerful union between the organizations, the cycle of poverty in the favelas of Brazil has a solution, it has a way! Transforming our surroundings, we transform the whole world”, said Roberto Medina, president of Rock World, the company responsible for Rock in Rio and The Town.
Medina also underscored the commitment to using the festival’s communication to broaden conversations to draw the attention of public policy and the business community.
“To overcome poverty, we need a mutual collaboration agenda, with articulation between all sectors of society, in addition to extremely technical studies and cutting-edge technology in favor of a systemic transformation in the favelas. That is why Favela 3D is a project of interest public, because it is a solution based on data and innovation to overcome chronic poverty in Brazil”, added Edu Lyra, CEO and founder of Gerando Falces.
The Town takes place on the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 9th and 10th of September, in Cidade da Msica, located at the Interlagos Circuit.
