Last weekend’s storms left more than a thousand homeless and more than 700 homeless
The heavy rains that hit the north coast of the State of So Paulo between last Saturday (18) and Sunday (19), left more than 1,700 homeless and more than 700 homeless. The storm also left more than 40 people dead and more than 30 missing.
To help people in the region, agencies and advertisers are mobilizing on behalf of the victims. Lew’Lara\TBWA, in partnership with the Red Cross (agency client), is collecting non-perishable food and water, mainly.
WMcCann already posted on social networks that he contributed to the NGO Gerando Falces, by Edu Lyra. “WMcCann is making its donation today, in contribution to the work of @gerandofalcoes on the North Coast of So Paulo. If you can, donate”, he wrote to agencies on social networks.
Among the advertisers, Grupo Petrópolis informed that it will send more than 26 thousand liters of mineral water to the region. In a note, the company said that the shipment will come from the factory in Boituva (SP).
The donation will be sent by air, with the support of helicopters, through the mobilization carried out by the Israeli Federation of the State of So Paulo.
Tokio Marine, in turn, joined the #Tamojunto movement, organized by the NGO Gerando Falces, through the donation of financial resources that will be used to provide relief to the victims.
The initiative, which has already raised R$ 5 million, involves the donation of hygiene items, clothes, food and infrastructure. In addition, the company stated that it has been helping local policyholders since last Monday (20).
Since last Monday, Multiplan shopping malls in São Paulo have been receiving donations for flood victims. Donated items will be forwarded to the Social Fund of the State of So Paulo, which is collecting non-perishable food, cleaning and personal hygiene items, clothes, mattresses and mineral water.
