In celebration of the 458th anniversary of Rio de Janeiro, celebrated on March 1st, TV Globo paid homage to residents who were born in Rio or who chose the wonderful city to live.
Produced in partnership with the production company Favela Filmes, the 30” film was made with the aim of translating the way of life of Cariocas who, despite all the adversities they face on a daily basis, always have a smile on their face. From the alleys of the slums to the sands of the beaches, the video shows what is inherent in this lifestyle known around the world.
Shot in different landscapes such as Ipanema beach, Aterro do Flamengo and Morro da Coroa, in Catumbi, the campaign mixes funk with samba in the soundtrack, in addition to featuring voiceover by actress Tas Arajo.
In the text, the actress says This is our house where we live freely. Who welcomes visitors with open arms. From those who are happy and see beauty wherever they go. From people who work with determination, they brought joy to their faces. With a party from our football to samba. Proud of our history to tomorrow. We are cariocas. We are from the city that celebrates 458 years.
