With the use of short videos, the station became the most followed Brazilian channel in Latin America.
ESPN reached the milestone of 5 million subscribers on its official YouTube channel, consolidating the Disney Group’s sports strategy of expanding its presence in digital media.
In recent years, the company has invested in a series of exclusive contents for the social video network and ESPN Brasil has become the most followed channel in Latin America on YouTube, in addition to being the second channel with the highest number of subscribers among companies producing sports content in the country.
One of the bets that the broadcaster used for the strategy was the use of vertical videos, called Youtube Shorts, which made the ESPN Brasil channel reach the mark of 30 million views per month on the platform.
In the channel’s program schedule, the broadcaster has the “SportsCenter+”, which consists of a live held on weekends and which brings the highlights of the events transmitted by Star+.
ESPN has decades of television production experience. Now, it has adapted this content to digital. And, more than that, it has opened new paths for exclusive programming on YouTube and social networks. It is a space that includes new possibilities, where we can be more creative and put innovations into practice, said Eduardo de Meneses, presenter of SC+.
The channel also features videocasts, with productions such as Futebol no Mundo (international football), Na Quadra (NBA) and Semana NFL, in addition to the best moments from the main football leagues in the world, such as the Premier League, LaLiga, Serie A and Europa League. .
