The project, carried out in partnership with Artplan and Instituto Identidades do Brasil, has the challenge of denouncing and inspiring changes in society to combat racism.
Security cameras are resources that aim to increase people’s sense of protection, but they are also used for discriminatory monitoring of black people. Faced with this scenario, the KondZilla Institute and the GR record label joined Artplan and the Identidades do Brasil Institute (ID_BR) to launch the manifesto “Pretos na Mira”.
Based on the idea of Ary Nogueira and Rafael Pascarella, the challenge of the project is to denounce and inspire changes in society to combat racism and features a song composed exclusively for the video manifesto, released this Tuesday (21), on the International Day against to Racial Discrimination.
The track, performed by MC Kekel and MC Davi, marks the first action of the movement which, through content and awareness-raising actions, intends to denounce this practice of racism, debate solutions and place black people in the crosshairs of its prosperous history.
The project aims to contribute to this artistic manifesto, through music, lyrics, videoclip and social networks, promoting reflection in society on this subject that is so delicate and recurrent in our daily lives. With the union of talents, we will seek greater visibility for these social issues, for peripheral communities and for people who suffer situations and acts of racism, said Rodrigo Oliveira, President of GR6.
The creation and development of the initiative also relied on consultancy from the Dreamers Group Diversity Committee, of which Artplan is a member, and to boost the release of the track’s clip, there will be a series of activations on the social networks of the singers MC Kekel and MC Davi and the creation of the hashtag #PretosNaMira that will give visibility to the reports and cases that are yet to come.
