Platform said the idea is to improve connections between brands and consumers
Instagram introduced two new advertising formats, which will have the mission of helping brands to be discovered by the public, in addition to creating connections with the consumer. These are reminder ads and social network search results.
The first of them, which is being tested, will allow the brand to send interested followers a notification on important dates – such as launches, events and other moments -, so that they can follow the news.
According to the platform, people will be able to choose whether they want to receive Reminder Ads from a company; if so, three Instagram notifications will be sent as follows: 1 day before, 15 minutes before and at the beginning of an important event or date for the brand.
Instagram also featured the ad space in the platform’s search results. This way, people who are searching for a product or content may first be impacted by an ad as soon as they click and start browsing the results.
“These innovations are another step in the set of business tools that the platform has been building to help companies share their stories, reach new audiences and develop their businesses,” said Meta, owner of Instagram.
In February, the company revealed part of the results for the fourth quarter of last year, which revealed a drop in advertising revenue from US$ 32.6 billion to US$ 31.2 billion.
