The pieces in the collection feature a pattern in high relief, with translucent parts reminiscent of the frog’s skin texture.
Rider invited designers Pedro Andrade and photographer Vav Ribeiro to create the new campaign for the brand’s collection, inspired by several species of frogs discovered in the Amazon, called “Rider FrogR P_A.
The partnership resulted in pieces that incorporate nature, integrating the size and extent of the forest with natural elements such as logs, stones, foliage, as well as external elements such as canoes.
“The creative process for the campaign started from the research that Pedro Andrade did on amphibians for the creation of shoes. We photographed and filmed in the Amazon in the same habitat territory of these frogs. The soul of this project has a documental content. It talks about fashion, design and innovation, but mainly draws attention to the importance of preserving our fauna and flora,” said Vav Ribeiro.
The pieces in the collection have a pattern in high relief, with translucent parts that recall the texture of frog skin. The shape of the rear part of the shoe recalls the bent leg of an amphibian and has a non-slip texture. The sole, on the other hand, comes with shapes alluding to the animal’s paws.
I started to carry out research on the Amazonian Fauna, and during my first months of research, I realized my obsession with the Poison Arrow Frogs, the famous poisonous frogs of the Amazon. I found in them, behind the beauty of colors, textures and shapes, a way to make people pay attention to an important issue, which is the preservation of the Amazon rainforest, both fauna and flora, says Pedro Andrade, founder of Piet e from the P_Andrade brand.
