The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity announced the first wave of confirmed speakers to take to the stages of the 70th edition of the event, which takes place between June 19th and 23rd.
The 2023 edition confirmed names like Anglica Munson, Danai Gurira, Gilson Rodrigues, Johanna Faries, Les Binet, Michael Johnson, Michelle Gass and Tiffany Rolfe
In our 70th edition, speakers will represent the full spectrum of creative marketing. Collectively, the speakers will provide a forward-looking vision and provide practical advice for all delegates. At this year’s Festival, we will continue to champion creativity and ensure the global community leaves with the tools and evidence it needs to demonstrate that creativity drives progress for business, people and society, said Jenni Middleton, Senior Vice President/Editor- Lions boss.
Creativity as a theme
Impactful creativity and the role that creativity can play in driving sustained commercial growth will be some of the themes addressed during the Festival.
For the theme, the festival will have the presence of Michelle Gass, president of Levi Strauss & Co; Tiffany Rolfe, Global Creative Director at R/GA and Les Binet, Group Head of Effectiveness at adam&eveDDB’s, who will participate in a session alongside Molson Coors and DDB Worldwide.
On how games and entertainment influence popular culture, Johanna Faries, GM of Call of Duty at Activision Blizzard, will discuss how to navigate this industry. Looking at the sporting world, four-time Olympic gold medalist Michael Johnson will show how brands and organizations can get involved with the movement.
Danai Guria, actress and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, will address how brands and creatives can turn DE&I intent into action. Still on the subject, Angelica Munson, global digital director for Shiseido Japan, will show how to bring DE&I to the company’s DNA and how this can transform the local culture.
Finally, Gilson Rodrigues, president of G10 Favelas, will reveal how social entrepreneurship can make the industry increase revenues.
The Cannes Lions Festival will announce the other speakers in the coming weeks.
