Event that brings together content creators, fans, brands and industry to take place in July, in SP
VidCom announced its first edition on Brazilian soil, more specifically, in So Paulo. Promoted by Paramount and Dream Factory, the event will take place between the 7th and 9th of July at So Paulo Expo.
The event will focus on two themes, Community and Industry, with the first day dedicated to fans of digital content and creators, while the second theme will focus mainly on uniting the public with the digital media industry.
According to Sarah Tortoretto, SVP of Marketing & Communications at VidCon Global, the reason for the event to arrive in the metropolis of São Paulo was the increase in the creator economy in the place in recent years.
“In 2021, So Paulo had a growth rate of new creators (171%) greater than anywhere else in the world, which boosted its Creator Economy to R$70 billion per year, and which continues to grow. There is clearly an audience and It’s an industry in this country that wants to celebrate what VidCon stands for, and we look forward to seeing it come to life,” said the executive.
With an audience of at least 15,000 people expected over the three days, the event aims to make an impact on people who are interested in digital content, be they creators, fans, brands or industries.
“The event is the only place where all these groups of people converge in one place, in real life, to celebrate the influence that digital content has on our society and culture, so we are looking to impact all of them”, highlighted the executive.
Among the themes that will be debated during the three days of the festival are “Scenario of the digital media industry in Brazil”; “Culture, equity and representation in the new creator economy”; “Thriving in a digital landscape”; “Audience Development”; “Brand Agreement + Interactions: Possibilities and Potential Pitfalls” and “The Very Near Future: Technology, Trends, Web3, and the Metaverse”. According to Sarah, other themes will still be announced.
