Company founded by Chouinard is committed to helping with solutions to the environmental crisis
Founder and former owner of outdoor clothing brand Patagonia, Yvon Chouinard will receive the 2023 Cannes LionsHeart.
Chouinard founded Patagonia in 1973, a company known for its commitment to advancing solutions to the environmental crisis. He was also a co-founder of 1% for the Planet, Textile Exchange, Fair Labor Association, Sustainable Apparel Coalition, The Conservation Alliance, among others.
“We have a long history of asking customers to think differently about the clothes they wear, buying only what they need and fixing it when necessary,” he said.
With the award, Yvon Chouinard joins the hall of honorees that includes Bono, Al Gore, Blake Mycoskie, Richard Curtis, Paul Polman, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka and Malala Yousafzai, who won the award at last year’s Cannes Lions.
