PRIO (B3: PRIO3 – former PetroRio), the largest independent oil and gas company in Brazil and a pioneer in the recovery and increase of the useful life of mature fields, announces the sponsorship of nine para-athletes from different sports. The first private Brazilian oil company to support para-athletes, PRIO reinforces its commitment to promoting a more inclusive and less unequal society through sport.
The PRIO team has as ambassador the swimmer and Paralympic medalist Clodoaldo Silva, 43 years old, considered the greatest Brazilian para-athlete. And the team is made up of four men and five women: Wallace Antonio (shot put), Gabriel Araujo (swimming), Alana Maldonado (judo), Julyana da Silva (discus throw), Diana Barcellos (rowing), Brenda Freitas ( judo), Antônio Tenório (judo), Wilians Silva de Araújo (judo) and Camille Rodrigues (swimming).
Gabriel Hackme, manager of Incentivized and Sponsored Projects at PRIO, explains:
“The idea is to make athletes feel part of a team with values aligned with PRIO’s pillars: efficiency, resilience and results. In addition, with this initiative, we intend to contribute to improving the conditions for training, traveling and the athletes’ routine.”
PRIO will have its brand stamped on the uniforms, specially developed by the company. The clothes bring elements such as the graphic representation of the skull and tentacles, in an easy-to-understand layout that takes PRIO’s values, following the trend of classic minimalist design. Rick de Abreu, Head of Creation at PRIO, explains the concept:
“With the skull we want to transmit the message of personal transformation through team spirit, in addition to being a way to cause a great impact on the perception of the team by the opponents. Elements such as tentacles representing the octopus, the name of the company’s first platform and avant-garde animal in PRIO’s communication were also used.”
The creative adds that it was a very big challenge to propose the look for such incredible and recognized athletes, involving a lot of research and conversations to arrive at the final design of the uniforms. “We had the help of the PRIO ambassador, Flávio Canto, and the para-athletes’ team ambassador, Clodoaldo Silva”, he concludes.
Team sponsorship is one of the company’s many sports promotion initiatives. PRIO also supports other sports, such as motorsport (sponsorship of the driver Nicolas Costa and the Porsche Carrera Cup), martial arts, as well as actions to encourage culture and the preservation of the environment.
