Today, April 14th, World Coffee Day is celebrated. The plant, which was part of the history of São Paulo and Brazil, has been part of several campaigns over the years, after all, we are the largest coffee exporter in the world.
With that in mind, Adnews decided to make a more than special TopPubli to commemorate this date, bringing together the best campaigns involving this drink that is so important in the lives of millions of Brazilians, whether to start the day or to have that classic afternoon coffee.
Check out the best coffee campaigns:
To present the evolution of its line of specialty coffees, Nescafé launched a campaign signed by the agency DPZ&T. In it, a series of videos are presented with the concept that “When you respect time, life has a special flavor.”. The idea came from a human insight, which is the close and sensory relationship we have with time.
Café Seleto – After a good sleep
And if coffee has been part of Brazilians’ lives for so long, it is clear that one of the most classic campaigns in Brazil involving the drink could not be missing. In 1974, Café Seleto released a jingle created by Arquimedes Messina that stuck in the minds of Brazilians. The brand used the song more than once, but the film that stood out the most was the animated one.
McDonald’s – We Could
And of course, coffee is not only famous here in Brazil. The drink, which is successful worldwide, also had several prominent campaigns around the world. In one of its most provocative campaigns, McDonald’s UK made a video showing everything it could have put in its coffee, referencing rival brands, but opted for the simpler option.
Nespresso – What Else
And of course, when talking about campaigns involving coffee, you can’t help but remember George Clooney, Nespresso’s poster boy. Over the years, the actor has been the protagonist of a series of campaigns for the brand, in which he left the slogan “What Else?” (what else?) popularly known all over the world. Campaigns even included other Hollywood stars, such as Jack Black.
Who never yawned during a super tiring day? On the São Paulo subway, it is enough to walk a little to see one or two people yawning. With that in mind, Café Pelé placed a panel on the yellow line of public transport with a video in which a man yawned repeatedly. Whoever yawned too, got a cup of coffee to make the day a little less tiring.
And of course, speaking of coffee, you can’t help but remember the King…

Born in the city of Três Corações, a major coffee producer in Minas Gerais, Rei Pelé was of great importance in promoting Brazilian coffee around the world. In the 70s, after winning the third world championship with the Brazilian team, the star signed with Cacique Alimentos to create Café Pelé.
Combining two of the greatest passions of Brazilians, coffee and football, it didn’t take long for the brand to consolidate itself in the national territory and start exporting the product, arriving at a presence in around 50 countries. In 2017, the company was acquired by Jacobs Douwe Egberts (JDE), a Dutch company that also owns Pilão, L’OR and Caboclo, all Brazilian.
stay tuned here Adnews! Because for us, leaving the obvious is as obvious as creating and transforming.
