The sound of the jazz clubs on Bourbon Street, an iconic street in New Orleans, in the United States, lands this month at Largo da Batata, in São Paulo, to boil the Friday nights at the Goose Island Brewhouse. And on the 14th, who will perform live throughout the night is Nanny Soul with Pedro Lima. In addition to enjoying the weekly performances in April, visitors will be able to “Friday” trying a new beer inspired by this musical genre: Bourbon Street, created in honor of the month of Jazz and named after the famous street.
Leonardo Augusto, Goose Island Brewhouse Marketing Coordinator, says:
“Bourbon Street is the union of Goose Island’s passion for bourbon and the elegant musical notes of Jazz, a tasty, light and subtly complex beer, which translates the creative and innovative essence of Goose Island Brewhouse. We want to bring the whole atmosphere of New Orleans jazz clubs here, further transforming our Beer Garden into a unique space with surprising initiatives for people, mixing good music, surprising beer and also a special burger.”
Criativity and innovation
To create Bourbon Street beer, it was inevitable to go back to the origins of Jazz, in which whiskey is almost always part of the context. The search was for a link between Goose Island, whiskey, jazz and New Orleans: bourbon, the North American distillate that perfumes and inspires one of Goose’s most emblematic labels, Bourbon County, matured in barrels previously used in the distillate’s maturation.
Bourbon Street seasonal beer has a color reminiscent of whiskey, close to dark amber. In the aroma, it stands out for its woody profile, with notes of American oak, tobacco, cereals and light vanilla sweetness. On the palate, the malty flavor involves and enhances the perception of whiskey, without losing the drinkability to enjoy a good jazz show.
Jazz Sessions
In the month of Jazz, the bar becomes the stage for several concerts. Every Friday, there’s a surprise, taking the audience on a journey through the history of the musical genre and through the sound marked by improvisation, swing and non-linear rhythms (with a cover charge of R$15).
To get even more into the mood, in addition to Bourbon Street beer, the public can count on selected and exclusive draft beers at special prices (20% OFF on Fridays in April).
